Fred M. Ferreira

Fred Ferreira left this earth to be with his Heavenly Father Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019.

Fred was known for his generosity of spirit, humor, and kindness to family, friends and strangers alike; but then again, Fred never considered anyone a stranger. He made sure that every person his life touched felt valued.

Humor was what he enjoyed most and it’s how he got through life right up to the end.

He often said, “The only thing I have any control over is my attitude.” He met adversity with humor and made a positive out of a negative every time.

Fred spent his life creating many very successful businesses. He was Chairman of the Board and CEO of Comfort Systems USA, one of the largest HVAC companies in the nation. As the company made its stock public, Fred was the one to step up to the Stock Exchange bell and ring it.

Although Fred was a very successful businessman, he found his greatest joy in his family. He relished times with them as they played card games like Hand & Foot or Gin Rummy, but they knew to beware because he was always so competitive.

He was proud that he achieved 32 years of sobriety… but he never overcame his obsession with golf!

He is survived by his wife Kim, his children Steve Ferreira and spouse Gretchen, Kristin Ferreira Davis and spouse Joe, his brothers Robert Ferreira and Don Ferreira, his sisters Susan Ferreira Rogers and Donna Ferreira McNutt, and preceded in death by his brother Dodge Ferreira. As he and Kim blended their families, he was blessed with four more children: Jason Lamb and spouse Robin, Jarrod Lamb and spouse Rachel, Jeremy Lamb, and Jenna Kleiner and spouse Curt. He was also “Pops” to 14 grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life at 4 p.m. Friday at The Barn, Rocking R Farms, 20325 E. Superstition Drive, Queen Creek, AZ 85142.
