Betty Jenkins (Heckendorn)

Betty Jenkins, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, November 9th, 2020. She was born in Davenport, Iowa, the fifth oldest of eighteen children to Lois and Adeline Johnson. She graduated from Wheaton High School in Warrenville, Illinois where she lived with her adoptive parents William and Zela Heckendorn and sister Marilyn.

Betty is survived by several sisters and brothers. She had four daughters, Martha Annette Fadok, Jacquelyn Marie Lee, Penny Jane Miller, and Cynthia Anne Lee (deceased), six grand children, and five great grand children.

Betty worked for the City of Scottsdale as a plans coordinator during Scottsdale’s growth in the late 1970’s-1990’s, which she was very proud to be a part of.

Betty loved going to bingo, Casino Arizona, yodeling, singing, dancing, and eating at Old Town Scottsdale restaurants. The family would like to thank the nurses at Banner Desert Hospital and the staff at Traditions Health During the last months of her life.
