Hoyt William Smart Jr

Hoyt William Smart Jr. passed away on April 8, 2025, in Gilbert, Arizona. He was born on March 2, 1947, in Taft, California, to Hoyt Smart Sr. and Ann Smart. A proud veteran, Hoyt served honorably in the United States Army. His military service remained a lasting source of pride throughout his life. Hoyt is survived by his son, Hoyt Smart III (Sheila) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; daughters Denise Barlow (Jim) of Gilbert, Arizona, and Lisa Bailey (Chris) of Eugene, Oregon; grandchildren Stephen, Tara, Wyatt, Niki, and Cody; and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Doris Beard of Illinois and Brenda Duhon of Louisiana, as well as several nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his grandsons Joshua and Darek; his parents Ann Shaw, Noble Shaw, and Hoyt Smart Sr.; his brother Charles Smart. Hoyt’s legacy lives on through the generations of family who carry forward his memory. May his life be remembered with gratitude and love by all who knew him.
