Mary Alice Brewer
September 7, 1940 - March 24, 2025
Mary Alice Brewer was born on September 7, 1940, in Magnolia, Arkansas. As a child, her family moved to Arizona to work as sharecroppers, and it was there that Mary spent
most of her life. This hardworking upbringing shaped her into a resilient, determined, and independent woman.
Mary dedicated over 30 years of service to Motorola and raised her three children. After her children had grown and left home, she pursued her passion for learning, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management from the University of Phoenix.
Mary had a passion for cooking and took great joy in preparing meals for the family. Some of her favorite recipes included her delicious shrimp fried rice, yummy homemade
banana pudding made from scratch, and baked treats full of nuts. Visitors to Mary’s home were always greeted by a full refrigerator and a well-stocked pantry - a testament to her generous spirit and love of sharing.
Mary was also a lifelong learner and recently found a passion for studying the Bible. She sought spiritual guidance through scripture and enjoyed engaging in discussions on Zoom during Bible study sessions, always asking insightful and thoughtful questions.
Mary’s kindness, strength, and love for her family and friends will be deeply missed. Her
legacy of compassion and resilience will live on through her family and loved ones. She touched the lives of many, leaving behind cherished memories and an enduring impact on all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved children, Jacqueline Brewer-Gray (Dock) and Camille Brewer (Robert); her grandchildren, Tanisha, Darrel, Brock, Kindell, and Korey; and great-grandchildren Jordan, Jayden, Caprice, and Brock Jr. She also leaves behind her sister, Sandra Dalton (Eddie); her brothers, John Williams, James Williams and Bonnie Williams; and many loving extended family and friends.
She is preceded in death by parents Walter and Odessa Williams; son, Rodney Brewer; grandson, Rodney Dane Brewer; sisters Shirley Williams, Thelma Williams, and Margie Frost; brothers Walter Williams, Billy Williams, David Williams, and Timothy Williams.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mary’s life on Saturday, April 5th, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Horizon Funeral Care, 7530 East Main Street, Mesa, AZ, 85207.
