Michael George Duhancik


Michael passed away on November 24, 2020 at Banner University Hospital in Phoenix at the age of 63. He was born November 4, 1957 in Bridgeport, CT and grew up in Milford, CT. He was a 1977 graduate of Platt Technical High School in Milford, CT. He lived in Connecticut until he first moved to Arizona in 1985. He spent 20 years in Oregon before retiring and moving back to Arizona in 2015. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, children Nicholas and Steven, his parents-in-law Fred and Carole Anderson, his brother David Duhancik, his wife Debbie and their three children Joshua, Jeremy and Megan, his sister Linda Merriam and her son Joseph, cousins Andrea, Theodore, and Matthew Monte, his uncle Raymond Tanski and wife Edith, his aunt Rachel Tanski and other relatives and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his parents George Duhancik and Eleanor (Tanski) Duhancik, his cousin Christopher Monte and sister-in-law Sheryl Anderson


Michael spent over 30 years of his life working in the machine tool industry. He was proud of the five years he worked for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT where he produced parts for Sikorsky helicopters. He also worked for 19 years at A-dec, in Newberg, OR until he had to retire because of heart problems. A-dec is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of dental equipment. He was head of their safety committee for several years and an ISO auditor. He also studied Military History at Northern Arizona University and Arizona State University. Michael was a loving husband and father, and he was happiest when working on projects around the house.


A celebration of Michael’s life will be determined at a later date.
