Regina Nelson

It is with profound sadness, that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Regina Nelson. Regina was born on January 23rd, 1954 in Pennsylvania. On April 25th, 2023, surrounded by her family, she answered God’s call and entered into eternal rest after a prolonged and courageous battle with lung disease caused by Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency Syndrome at the young age of 69.

She lived a full life as a devoted mother. She was a woman of many talents and was artistic and creative. She loved to cook, bake, draw and sew and loved to share her passion for these things with others.

Family was everything to her. She helped guide many of her family and friends into adulthood and beyond. Not just her children, but her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews as well. Many people would not be who and where they are today without her passion, her spirit, love, and guidance. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Regina is survived by her son Garnett, daughters Raquel Raby (Patrick Sr) , Danielle Martin (John Jr), and Michelle Nelson; Grandchildren, Patrick Raby II (Ligia), Marcellus Chouteau (Briana), Julius Raby, Synnovia Green, Jordan Russell, Taylor Russell and John David Martin III; Brother Fidel and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her mother Lillian Montanez, sisters Delores Williams and Barbara Saunders, and brother Rodney Yancey. All of these she loved and touched deeply. A Celebration of Life in her honor will be held at a later date. An announcement will be forthcoming.
