Suzanne Hawkins Boyster Slade

Suzanne Hawkins Boyster Slade passed away peacefully on July 23, 2021 at the age of 86, surrounded by her family. Suzanne, a third generation Arizona native, was born June 20, 1935 to Joseph Wallace Hawkins and Louise Standage.

As a young girl, Suzanne enjoyed family vacations and attend Mesa schools and was a Rabbette while attending Mesa High and enjoyed all of the social activities. As a dairy farmers wife, she worked alongside her husband and boys. She was a gifted teacher, and she spent 30 years teaching special needs young adults in the Maricopa Stake with her mother and sister. An avid genealogist and bargain hunter, and the ability to remember and acknowledge every birthday, she will be greatly missed

She is survived by her husband of 10 years, William Jefferson Slade, her sons: A. Blake Lamb (Tanya), Brent Lamb, Harrell Boyster, Jr (Jennifer) and John Boyster (Melody), 18 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. Her Step-sons: Larry Slade (Connie), Jeff Slade (Carol), Kevin Slade, (Delilah),and stepdaughter Brenda Weaver (Wade), 24 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren, her sister Jill Cummins and her brother Wally Hawkins

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Jody Kelly, husband Harrell Boyster, Sr, granddaughter Nancy, and great-grandson Andy.

Services will be held Friday July 30 at 10:00 am at the Westwood Ward building, 613 N Stewart, Mesa, Arizona, with viewing at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at City of Mesa Cemetery.
