Thora Scott Cluff

Thora Scott Cluff, born of William Walter and Mary Scott, on October 4, 1930, peacefully passed away February 22, 2021, at the age of 90. Thora grew up in Gilbert and Mesa Arizona on dairy farms, with her 6 sisters and 3 brothers. She married Eldred Lines Cluff on her 19th birthday October 4, 1949. Thora was a quiet, talented person that never sought to draw attention to herself. She was always serving others. She served as a teacher, and in the Primary Children’s Presidency, and Relief Society Presidency for years at church. Momma loved flowers and would often sit and draw them. She was a wonderful homemaker, seamstress, knitter, ceramicist and cook (although she would tell you she didn’t like cooking). Thora loved to read, and read to her children often. She created a loving home where she raised her 8 children and supported Eldred in his endeavors. Thora and Eldred had over 66 years together. Eldred always called her his “Sweetheart”, and they were rarely separated. Thora is survived by her sister Ina Ray, her brother Howard Scott and her children: Beth (Norris) Phelps, Lynette (Raj Kumar) Kohli, Peggy (Wynn) Caffall, Vicky (Paul) Roundy, Della Cluff, Claud (Penny) Cluff, David (Cheryl) Cluff, Penny (Ben) McLaughlin, and borrowed daughter, Kathy (Blaine) Waddoups.
